BISHOP / OBERLEITNER
Improvisation, Ambient, Electronic, Classical Music
When Norwegian live-sampling artist John Derek Bishop and Austrian pianist Simon Oberleitner - both have already impressed the international press in a variety of projects, including Jazzmagazine France, Mojo Magazine, Jazzwise and Jazzpodium - come together, a space opens between centuries and musical idioms. Pianistic lines shaped by classical tradition and the improvisational sensibilities of jazz meet electronic reflections that arise, dissolve, and renew themselves in real time.
Fragments, harmonies, and rhythmic gestures drawn from both classical and jazz traditions are captured, folded, transformed, and carried into a new musical breath. From this dialogue between keys, technology, and improvisational practice emerges a music that resists fixation—each performance a unique structure shaped by real-time composition and focused sonic architecture.
Everything unfolds live.
Nothing is predetermined; each turn is a suggestion, each sonic trace a shared step into the unknown.
The result is a sound world in which past and present intersect—transparent, open, and rooted in a musical language that seamlessly brings together ambient sounds with improvisational freedom and classical clarity.
